Chapter Four

I.
"Okay, girls, what's the story?" the man asked with an amused look on his face.

"Are you Neil?" Jenny asked.

Neil was the personal assistant to the band.

"Yeah, but what's the story?" he asked once again.

Jenny was the smooth talker so she told him how their plan had developed and was then carried out. Neil had heard and seen very many ways girls tried to meet the Beatles, but this was the best one yet.

"Besides, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach." Jenny said finishing her story.

Neil laughed and said, "This is the best scheme yet and I think the boys would get a big kick out of it. So, I'm going to let you tell them about it."

"You mean we are going to meet them?" Jenny asked in disbelief.

"Yeah. Now how would you like to see the rest of the show? We can watch from the sidelines. Oh, and girls, lose the uniforms." Neil grinned.

The girls looked at each other with their mouths open ready to scream, but thought better of it. They followed Neil to the stage area. On the way Jenny whispered in Joey's ear.

"I can't believe we got away with it."

II.
The show was over and the Beatles were taking their bows. They came off the stage and Neil handed them each a towel. While they were drying the sweat off their faces they continued on to the dressing room followed by neil and the girls. The Beatles didn't seem to notice the girls at first then John realized there were four more people in their group.

"Hey, Neil what's going on here?" he asked, grinning.

"Oh, these are your biggest fans and they wanted to meet you. Wait until you hear about what they did to get back here." Neil replied.

Neil related their story with Jenny's help to the boys. They also found the story amusing. Neil was going to introduce the girls, but realized he didn't know their names.

"Do we get to pick the girls we want?" Paul asked.

"No!" Jenny exclaimed. "We all have our favorite one. Jana likes John, Jody likes George, I like Ringo and Joey likes you."

"Great! I was going to pick my brown eyes anyway." Paul said and walked over to Joey. She swayed when he got close to her and he reached out to steady her. Suddenly her ears began to ring and her eyes closed as Paul caught her before she hit the floor.

"What happened?" Neil asked.

"I think she fainted." Paul answered. He picked her up and carried her to a couch nearby.

"Girls are always falling at his feet." Ringo quipped. Eveeryone laughed except for Paul who was more concerned about Joey's condition.

"Neil, ring up first aid and have them send a doctor down here." John said.

Neil went to the phone on the wall and dialed up first aid. The doctor would be down in a few minutes. Jenny sat on the edge of the couch with Paul standing behind her. The doctor came in and everyone moved out of the way to let him work. He palced some smelling salts under Joey's nose. After a few seconds she came to. A sigh of relief went through the room.

"You gave quite a scare, little lady. You're going to be fine now." the doctor said and reassured her by patting her hand. Jenny sat down on the edge of the couch again and smiled at Joey.

"If I bring Paul over here, will you be okay?" she asked.

Joey nodded yes to her. Paul walked over and took Jenny's place. Blushing slightly, he took Joey's hand and gave her a shy smile. She smiled back and he help her to sit up.

"I was very worried about you," he said sincerely.

"You were?" Joey asked, surprised.

"Yes. I thought I was going to spend the evening alone. I need some company and I really want to get to know you. Besides I love those brown eyes for yours and I want to look at them forever."

Joey blushed this time and looked down, but Paul lifted her chin and looked into her eyes again. It was unnerving to her. It was like he was searching for the answer to an unasked question. Joey and Paul joined the chat session going between the other six. After talking for about an hour they were teasing and cutting each other down as if they'd known each other for a long time.

"How would you like to eat some real food? These carts don't have much on them." Paul asked.

"That sounds great!" George exclaimed.

"I was asking the girls, not you." Paul teased.

"Oh come on, I'm hungry." Jana said.

The Beatles took them back to the hotel they were staying in. They ate in one of the rooms. The food was excellent. After eating everyone paired off. Paul and Joey went into another room then out to the balcony. Paul took her hand and looked at her.

"Paul, I'm sorry I fainted; you must think I'm some little girl." Joey said.

"No, I don't think that at all. You are older and more mature then the other girls I've met." He paused for a moment and then he softly said, "I really like you alot and I want you to back to England with me, but we'll talk about that later."

Joey's heart was in her throat and she was unable to respond.

"Would you like that?" he asked.

"Yes." she answered.

He bent down and lightly brushed her lips with his. A warm feeling went through her. It was afeeling she had never felt before, but then again she had never been kissed before. At last like that.

"Would you mind doing that again?" Joey asked.

"It would be my pleasure," he smiled.

This time he pulled her close to him and kissed her tenderly and she kissed him back. She felt the world slip away when his lips met hers. It felt like they were the only two people on earth. When it was over, Joey slowly opened her eyes only to find Paul looking at her again. He took her hand and they walked back in to join the others.

"Say, we better get home it's getting late." Jenny said.

Neil drove them home. It had been a wonderful evening for all. Before going inside, the boys asked the girls out for the next evening. Paul hoped tp spend more time with Joey. He had never kissed lips as soft as hers before and he wanted to do more than just hold her hand.
