Out of Your Shell, pt. 6 Part Six
"What was it that you wanted to talk about Paul?" Jeanna asked nervously.

"Well, I need to ask you something."

"Um, how do you feel about me?" he asked her.

"You know I like you Paul, why would you ask such a silly thing?"

"No, I mean, would you be willing to uh, well....."   He then placed a hand on her cheek, and looked in her eyes.  She knew what he was doing, but for some reason couldn't move. Did she want this?  They looked in each other's eyes, and their lips met,  just as John was walking in.

John saw everything, and he was furious, he just turned and left.  He didn't even stop to tell anyone where he was going, he just left.

"Paul....I can't do this." she told him, never noticing that John was ever in the room.

"Why? " Paul asked.

"I just don't think I'm ready."

"Well, I think I understand, are we still buddies?"  He asked, slightly embarrassed.

"Of course! " she said.

They gathered the drinks, and went back to the other room. When they got there they found that John was gone.

"Where's John? " Jeanna asked everyone.

"We don't know.  He went in the kitchen to see what was taking you so long and when he came back he just stormed out, didn't even say bye." Ringo said.

Paul and Jeanna just looked at each other.

"What happened in the kitchen? " Julia asked. "NOTHING!" Both Paul and Jeanna yelped in unison.

"Which door did he go out of?" Jeanna asked.

"Front." said George.

"Alright, I'm gonna go find him," she said.

She walked out of the house, called his name, when she heard a rustle she went around the house to find him staring at the purple sky.

She walked over and sat down next to him.

"Whatcha doin?" she asked him.

"Sitting." he said dryly.

"Is something wrong? " she asked.

"No, why would anything be wrong? " he asked sarcastically.

"I don't know. " she said.

"2 more shows, and then we can go home." he said

"I'll bet you miss it don't you? " she said.

"Not really, not until today. " he said.

"You wanna hear something? "  he asked her.

"Sure."

"I remember when we used to play in Hamburg, it was so much fun.  We slept in the worst infested rat hole you could imagine, but it was still fun.  Now, we can stay in the most luxurious suite in the hotel, and it hasn't been the same at all.  The only happiness been real from me is in the past couple days." he told her.

"Well, why don't you take a vacation? " she asked.

"Can't. The time we have is for touring and recording."

"Well, why don't you tell em' to kiss your ass and take one anyway? she said.
"Come on John, what is the worst they can do, they won't fire you!" she stated.

"Well, I guess you're right, luv. Jeanna, how'd you get so mature for your age?"

"Lots of practice."  she told him. "Come on John, let's go inside."

John got up and offered Jeanna a hand.

Why does Paul get the good ones? he thought.

They walked back around the house, arms linked together.

When they walked in the door everyone was staring like they had horns growing out of their heads.

"What's everyone lookin' at? " Jeanna asked.

"Oh, nothing..." said Ringo trying to occupy himself with a magazine.

"Yeah, nothing..." Julia said looking away.

Paul just sat and stared, he didn't know what to think about this.

"Well, what's on the agenda now? " Jeanna asked.

"Why don't we order in for dinner? " John suggested.

"Sounds good to me....what about you guys? " Jeanna said.

"Yeah....uh....that's.....that's fine." Paul said trying hard to keep his mind on track.

"Alright, Julia, you wanna come with me to order the food. Chinese OK with everyone?"

"Yeah, I'm starvin!" Ringo said.

"You're always hungry!" George shouted.

****************************************

After they all ate dinner, they decided to put on some records and play cards.

"How about poker? " Julia suggested.

"How about STRIP poker!!" John countered, wiggling his eyebrows.

Which got hoots and hollars from the rest of the group.

"How about you just deal the cards smarty!" Jeanna said while picking up a deck of blue cards and handing them to John.

"Fine, 5 card, jacks wild." He called the game.

They were all seated around a folding card table have a great time. Jeanna and Julia forgot that these were even THE BEATLES.  It was so easy to do after you spend time with them.  They were normal people, who could be equally annoying.

A few hours of playing, George and Ringo had retired to bed. Leaving John, Jeanna, Julia, and Paul.

"What time is it?" Jeanna asked.

"Wow.....2:30." Paul told her looking at his watch.

"I guess I'm gonna get to bed." Julia said.

"Yeah, me too, I'm beat." Jeanna replied.

"I guess we should too, might as well sleep while we can!" John said, looking as if he was preoccupied by something.

So, they all went upstairs and retired to their rooms.

When Jeanna walked into her room, she automatically walked to the bathroom, washed her face, and changed into her long blue silky night gown and robe.

She went over to the dresser, fetched a pack of cigarettes and lighter from the top drawer, and an ashtray from the top.  Walked over to the bed, switched on the lamp, sat down and lit a cigarette, then lit her candle.

She layed on her side propping her head up with her right arm and felt something under her elbow.  When she looked down to see what it was, she saw an envelope with her name on it in block letters.

She opened it, and inside in typed letters it read:

Jeanna,
You are the only girl I've ever met that I feel that I can't express how I feel for you. I don't think I'm sure myself. The purpose of this letter is so you know how beautiful you are, inside and out.  If you ever meet a man who doesn't tell you that, he's crazy, and if no one ever told you again, remember that someone you once knew thought so.  I will keep this letter anonymous to keep problems from arising.  I think you are a special person who will make a difference in the world, and I thought you had to know what a great person you are.  If I never see you again after this, I will not forget you, and I hope your life is well.  I can't tell you who I am, unfortunately, it would never work out.  I really wish it could, but our lives are different, and I think you love someone else, and I can't mess that up for you.  Always remember that you're special, and don't let anyone make you believe different.

Love always and forever,
your admirer

After reading this she was crying, she had always been self-conscious, and someone was telling her she was beautiful.

Who could have written this? she wondered.

She finished her cigarette, blew out the candle, and decided, she would let it go.  It was a sweet gesture, maybe someone was just trying to make her feel good.  Hell, maybe Julia got one too.  It would have to wait till morning, for she had already passed out, over the covers, still in robe and all.
