Playstation One, a handheld from Sony, was announced in Japan on June 7. July is the slated release date for Japan while the US will have to wait at least 2 months. PS One is 1/3 the size of the original PS. Like the PS2, it is compatible with all the existing PS software. You can expect at least 150 games being developed specifically for this handheld. A nice add on to the PS ONE will be a Cellular Phone Adapter. This gadget will allow gamers to have access to the internet where they can download data, software, surf the net, exchange data and even play online games. A large scale network server for future net compatible PS and PS2 games is in development as well. Looks like Gameboy will be having some competition on the handheld market.
