Number TheoryI found this to be an easy-to-read introduction to number theory. It is the first place I turn when faced with a number theoretic problem. William J LeVeque's Fundamentals of Number TheorySome familiarity with a little calculus will help, but no deep knowledge is needed. This Dover edition keeps the price LOW. |
Calculus...Stewart's Calculus is the text I learnt from, and teach from. It is full of examples, and explanations. Highly recommended. Unfortunately, it is also somewhat pricey |

Abstract AlgebraThis is my favourite University Level Textbook. A very good introduction to abstract algebra, covering groups, rings, fields, polynomials, and finally Galois theory and the unsolvability of the quintic. Well worth the price.Fraleigh's First Course in Abstract Algebra |
