~Mountain Biking, in the Blue Mountains and Area~

Georgian Triangle Tourist Association
(Georgian Triangle map below)
Welcome to mountain biking in the Georgian Triangle and surrounding areas. There are great single track trails all over Blue Mountain and neighbouring hills. The best that Ontario has to offer. Grand vista's, awesome scenery and nature in all its splendor.

ONTARIO~~~~yours to Discover !!!~~~~Go For It!!

Nestled on the shores of Georgian Bay is Collingwood, Ontario, Canada, with plenty of great shops, restaurants and accommodation’s. A four season resort community. Long known for the great winter skiing here, it is fast becoming a mecca for mountain biking. The longest fresh water beach in the world is just a 20 minute drive east.

~Blue Mountain Resorts~
In 1999 Blue Mountain added mountain biking to its four season resort and have a chairlift dedicated to summertime enjoyment for those that need a lift up the mountain. Chairlift rates are $4 a go or $20 for the day. Hours 9am - 7pm (summer only). There were also several downhill and slalom mountain biking races there in 1999. Hotel, restaurants, pubs and fun water park on site. Also has the "slide ride" where you can go down fibreglass chutes on a mini-sled. Lots to do after a great day of trail riding.(updates as soon as available)

Local areas to check out for great trail riding:

(Helmets strongly recommended)

~3 Stage~
Some heavy duty trails winding through forests with lots of technical singletrack, good downhills and usually lotza good ol' mountain mud, bring an extra lung! Deer and fox can be seen. Lots of interconnecting trails. There is a great spring fed lake at the top of the mountain, and trails leading to the Pretty River Valley to the south with nice rivers and streams. Pack lots of water and snacks, great spots with views of the bay.

~Kolapore~
Maps available at the Collingwood info center. Vast array of singletrack, can be very technical with plenty of roots and rocks. Great scenery and Red Death, a bumpy steep downhill. The swamp at the bottom is great for a break. Black flys in early spring will make ya ride for your flesh!! Terrain is killer on rims and tires. Donations for trail maintenance greatly appreciated as they are always fixing bridges etc.

~Loree Forest~
Easy going loop trail through forests and rock breaks. Great views of Georgian Bay atop Georgian Peaks Ski Club (No Mt. biking allowed there). Interconnecting trails to take ya back down or back to Blue.

~Georgian Trail~
This 32 km. flat trail (old railway line, crushed stone added) goes from Collingwood to Meaford. Scenic ride along the shoreline. Lots of lilacs along the trail at Craigleith, in season smell awesome. Neat little train depot/restaurant there also. Good stops in Thornbury for shops, eats and drink. Can be quite busy on the weekends.
Easy goin' leasure for the whole family.
