| Description | Iron Man 28
was created as an "agent of peace" by a group
of Japanese scientist, led by Dr. Keneda
and Dr. Shikishima. It took
many years, but after 27 unsuccessful tries, their
efforts gave birth to an indestructable robot, dubbed Ironman
28 (IM28). Alas, Dr. Keneda did
not live to see the fruition of their work, and his son, Shotaro,
was left in Dr. Shikishima' s care. His
daughter, Makki. became
Shotaro's companion. Their creation was a thing of
genius, a virtual walking tank, possessing great
strength, and the ability to fly. It was controlled via a
hand-held remote. As heir to the legacy, the controller
[and the power that came with it] passed to young Shotaro
Keneda. In keeping with the wishes of Dr.
Shinkishama and his late father, Shotaro
used IM28 to combat crime and injustice around
the world. Helping Shotaro was a close friend of
his, Police Chief Otsuka (who
work for the Interpol, along
with Shotaro!). His existence was kept secret
until the world was besieged by attacks from the criminal
Robot Mafia. Once set loose, Shotaro
and IM28 took the criminal world by storm,
fighting various would-be-dictators, aliens and assorted
criminals, as well as the aforementionated Robot
Mafia. But no matter what the danger, Shotaro
and IM28 continued their battle, making his
father's dream a reality at last. (The above was an abrdgement of the plot of the first two IM 28 plots, as printed on V*MAX Magazine - Vol. 2, issue 2; year unknown). The only differences was the time setting (1990) the reason IM28 was created (originaly as a Japanese weapon during WWII) and the addition of Mikki. IF I'd commited any mistake, please notify me and I'll correct it.) |
| Comments | This is another understimated Anime gem. There are but veru few pages that covers it, even the general aAnime guides :-(. The show was aired in Puerto rico during the 1980s and is still one of my favorite animes of all times. BTW, this show is actually a re-make of a 1960's show, which was aired in black-and-white. I haven't seen the show because it don't call my attention as the 1980's version. The animation style of the 1960's don't attracts me at all! A sequel to this show was make in the 1990's, which I havne't seen either but so far looks great and, despite ignoring the 1980's version, share's the design! |
