Description Super Deformed Double Feature is the American release of two OVAs: "Ten Little Gall Force" and "Scramble Wars". These are parodies of famous series released by Artmic and Movic studios. The first is an obvious parody of the Gall Force serires (this one focusing on the first two releases in a "behind-the-scene" style). The second one is rally through the desert featuring characters from several shows made by Artmic (in fact, on the opening credits one can clearly read "for Artmic freaks" or something like that). Three shows (Gall Force, Bubblegum Crisis and Gaiarth) recieves the more focus while the others (among them, AD POlice AND Genesis Climber MOSPEADA - a.k.a. Robotech: The New Generation!) made cameos through the race.
Comments I'm not that much into comedy, but this OVAs are killer! Specially since they're parodies of my two favorite shows: Gall Force and Bubblegum Crisis (having both in one show is great, even if it's a comedy). The plot is nowhere near the dead-serious atmosphere we got on the original versions, but that's the whole meaning of a parody (super-deformed or other wise): make fun of a serious, FAMOUS show. By the way, the curious thing about this shows is that they were made by the same companies that made the originals [Movic and Artmic] ! In Japan is a tradition to make self-parodies of a show instead of waiting for somebody to do them. If you haven't seen these, you're missing one of the most hilarious animes ever made (IMHO). Recommended! NOTE: Robotech/Mospeada freaks (like trully yours ^_^] will be pleased to know that Scott/Stig Bernard makes SEVERAL cameos throughout Scramvble Wars (see my Scramble Wars page for images!)
Links Metalformer's SDDF page - Since this Video is OOP, I've decided to made a page about it (besides I love it a lot!).
