| Description |
In 1999 an
alien spaceship crashlanded on Earth. The ship
contained a highly-advenced technology, which
frightened Earthlings enough to stop their wars
and join to the rebuilt ship, in order to use it
against the aliens (the Zentraedis) in case they
came to reclaim the vessel, which they did. That
lead to a war that nearly caused Earth's
destruction. When the aliens was defeated, a new
threat showed up as the alien's masters (Robotech
Masters) came to end what their minios started.
Later a third war shaked Earth. This time a race
of mechanical-insect-like beigns (Invids) came to
take Earth for unknown reasons. |

Robotech
was the bomb of cartoons! It was the first one
where people actually died and showed war as what
it really are: an abomination (while others
showed it as kid stuff). But how can an
"American show" be so violent? You may
ask. That's because it was NOT an American show.
It was A Japanese show edited in America.
Actually it was THREE animes: Super
Dimensional Fortress MACROSS, Super
Dimensional Calvary SOUTHERN CROSS and Geneisi Climber MOSPEADA (the coolest of all three!!!!! - MF).
Despite low-quality animation and the editing of
"objectinable scenes" (namely nudity),
the series retained its powerful drama and
action, making it one of it kind! It's credited
as the show that opened American audiences to
what anime have to offer! |
