R.I.P.

LeRoy Wilson - September 1, 2001

LeRoy O. Wilson, who had lived in Aberdeen for 12 years, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, in the Grays Harbor Health & Rehabilitation Center at Aberdeen. He was 76.

Mr. Wilson was born Aug. 25, 1925, at Howe, Okla., to Otto and Alice (Taylor) Wilson. He grew up in Wendell, Idaho.

He served in the Army from 1943 to 1948 with Company A of the 746th Railway Operating Battalion at Munich, Germany.

On Feb. 6, 1946, he married Francis Curtis at Kelso. She survives him at the family home.

Mr. Wilson worked for the Minute Maid Corp. at Samoa, Calif., from 1958 to 1968 and was retired. He had also worked for the Hammond Lumber Co. of Fullerton, Calif., and for the PUD at Longview from 1948 to 1955.

He enjoyed fishing, walking and reading.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, LeRoy Eugene of Pahoa, Hawaii; two daughters, Alice Wood of Hoquiam and Laura Arraujo of Honokaa, Hawaii; a brother, Duane, address unavailable; a sister, Waethena Parcel of Jackson, Mich.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Alder Grove Church of God in Aberdeen. Arrangements are by Alternative Funeral Services in Aberdeen.

Donations in his memory are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 1551 Broadway, Suite 20, Tacoma, 98402-3332.

The following are corrections to the above obituary:

LeRoy worked for the PUD of Longview, Wash. from 1948 to 1955.

He worked for the Hammond Lumber Co. in Samoa Calif. from 1956 to 1958.

He worked for the Minute Maid Co.in Fullerton Calif. from 1959 to 1968. He retired because of bad health.

His wife's name is spelled with an es not is.

It also should read Frances Curtis of Castle Rock, they were married in Kelso.
