HITCHMAN, Lena Hope Curtis gently passed to her rest on Tuesday March 5, 2002 in Snohomish County, Washington. She was born in Silverton, Oregon on July 3, 1922 to Harry Hewlet Curtis and Nettie Laura Hiles and continued to live in Oregon and Washington. ‘Hope’ taught in Seventh-day Adventist elementary schools and was a charter member of the Shoreline Seventh-day Adventist church near Seattle.

Her parents, three sisters; Esther, Vera and Virginia, two brothers Arnold and Stanley Lyle and her husband Delwyn Richard Hitchman preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn three brothers: Carl Curtis of Longview, Washington, Frank and Everett Curtis both of Mountlake Terrace, Washington and a sister Frances Wilson of Aberdeen, Washington. Her daughter Delleen Marie Starner of Polson, Montana; nine grandchildren, Lauretta Inez of Gresham, Oregon; Darrell James ‘Jim’ of Laconia, New Hampshire; Dwayne William of Washougal, Washington; LaDean Lorena of Auburn, Washington; Tammi Maria and Anthony Que of Polson, Montana; Kari Pauline of Beaverton, Oregon; Dwight Joseph ‘Joe’ of Ronan, Montana; Toni Kae of Vancouver, Washington and twenty one Great Grandchildren.

Cremation has already taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Shoreline Seventh-day Adventist church, Maylan Schurch a minister and long time friend will officiate.
