This is where I start, plates in a pile on left.

Now I've scratched them

Silver soldering terminals

First part of positive stack on top of case

10 litres water with 100 grams Potassium Hydroxide added. Note the plate arrangement, 2 pairs of plates plus the interior of case as negative. 6 pairs of plates as positive. Hopefully this will be a good arrangement.  Wooden block holding plates off bottom temporally.

Amperage after 5 mins

First test set up

Starting to bubble

Amperage draw after 30 mins

Mounted in back of Ute

With 100 grams and 22 litres water, absolutely no current draw at all. Going to add caustic soda until I get a current flow. Added 1.5 kg, big mistake got very hot. Pulled 70 amps. Going to drain off half and fill with just water, then try again. So the advice I got, 100 grams per litre was wrong. When I say it got very hot, that was in the plastic mixing  jug. I poured the  electrolyte into the SS case, it slowly cooled off. But the amp meter got very hot. Only had it connected for a minute or so.

I tried to dilute the electrolyte, several times but could not get current draw down. So I drained the case completely and refilled with water. Spooned Caustic Soda in until got a current flow, worked out to be approx 200 g . Then as you can see, after 30 mins. 40 amps this got the amp meter hot. So will make one now with a shunt. 40 amps is ok, as this is intended for tractors and trucks. Once I get it to make say 3  l/m. This I hope to achieve by altering the plate connections to alternate positive and negative across the  stack.

I have a friend who is an electronics expert, he will make a device to throttle the current draw.

This is my flow meter, it never had any HHO through it :-(((. But if I blow lightly through the tube the float rises easily. So I think it should work ok.

What a mess !!, I tried filtered bore water. This is the result, I think.

This is the negative side of the stack, you notice that its clean.

I am undecided how to insulate the plates to allow for each pair to have + & - .

I might try just two plates in the case next and see what happens, how much HHO will it make.

Today is Tuesday 25.8.09

This is the negative plate, which is connected to 7 other neg plates

Stack connections

This shows the positive plates. I put two desert spoon fulls of caustic soda in 22 litres water, 60 amp draw.

Still no HHO  Today is the 31.8.09

The mark four stack :-) + - + - + all the way through the stack.

Same 20 litre container, with garbage bag insulating the case from the electrolyte. Still drawing 60 amps , but seems to be making heaps of HHO.  Next thing is getting a shunt so can leave it  making HHO without melting the amp meter. Date 1.9.09

Different cell connection

As you can see, not working well.

Front of my charger.

Back of my charger.

Latest cell connection, seems to be  working now. Several tests have  been run, total time 37 hours. Finished at 13.1 volts, 22 amps. Date 15.9.09. Waiting now for electronics. No heat at all. Last test 7 hours.

These are three plate gangs, five in parallel.

After 30 secs

After 1 minute

Amperage draw, plan to control amps to 20 and add more caustic soda to increase HH0 output.

Just running on battery.
