William Charles Quigley, Sr. was born in Morgan County, Ohio, the son of John Columbus Quigley and Emily Smith. He married Mary Jane Heady, the daughter of Richard Heady and Emaline Place, on December 19, 1878 in Floris, Davis County, Iowa. He died August 19, 1897 in Davis County, Iowa. His burial place is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Floris.
