John Quigley, Sr was born in Worcester County, Massachusetts and was baptized there in 1760. He married Anna Oliver, the daughter of Robert Oliver, on November 16, 1781. He died in Waterford Township, Washington County, Ohio in 1804. They had the following children:

He married Mary "Polly" Potts on April 21, 1808.

He married Nancy Turner on July 4, 1822.

James, born 1801 and died Aug. 7, 1875.
He married Susannah Wilson on June 1, 1826.
