HUMAN NATURE

Human Nature first graced the music scene 9 years ago, under the name the 4Trax, whilst still attending Hurlstone Agricultural College.

Consisting of brothers Andrew and Michael Tierney, and friends Phil Burton and Toby Allen, they performed in the club scene - winning several MO awards for their excellence.

After feeling that they couldn't achieve much more as the 4Trax they headed to Sony to impress Denis Handlin with their vocal skills. And impress him they did - they performed for him then and there and were signed up on the spot!

Changing their name to HUMAN NATURE, the group soon released their first single, "Got It Goin' On", which hit the charts in early 1996 - introducing Australia to a brand new vocal act. "Tellin' Everybody" and "Wishes" soon followed, building a strong fan base and establishing Human Nature as one of the most popular Australian acts to achieve success!

Human Nature's debut album, "Telling Everybody", followed in success of their singles, dominating the Australian charts and achieving TRIPLE PLATINUM status!!! Singles "Don't Say Goodbye", "Whisper Your Name", "Everytime You Cry" (a duet with John Farnham) and "People Get Ready" set to prove that Human Nature are certainly one of the most promising acts ever to come out of Australia.

Human Nature's big break came in 1996, when they were chosen to tour the nation with Celine Dion and then Michael Jackson. They then went to tour with both acts in Europe (performing for crowds up to 95,000 people!).

After much patience from Australian fans, the guys returned to Oz in October 1997 to WOW! the crowds around the nation with their first major Australian tour. With supporting acts including Christian, Az Yet and the Real McCoy, Human Nature played to adoring fans, proving that they are as good on-stage as they are on their album.

They seem to keep getting better and better....August 7th saw the premiere of single "Cruel" to Australian radio, showing a matured sound for HN. In December 1998 Human Nature opened Janet Jackson's "Velvet Rope" tour in Australia, followed by being the support act for Celine Dion in Asia in early 1999.

Fans saw the release of the second single from "Counting Down" - "Last To Know" (which includes the song "She's Taken My Words" - featured on the movie "Paperback Hero") to music stores on March 15th 1999. This song proved that HN are as FAB with the "funky" tunes as well as the good ol' ballads!

Now the countdown is finally over!! Yes, the long-awaited second album was released around the country on May 17th 1999...after being 18 months or so in the making! And EVERYONE loves "Counting Down" - IT MADE IT'S DEBUT AT NUMBER ONE ON THE NATIONAL CHARTS!!! CONGRATS GUYS!!!

If you haven't bought the album as of yet, get out there and grab it now - it is absolutely brilliant - the hard work has definitely paid off, producing a perfect album...we're sure that "Counting Down" will do just as well, if not better than "Telling Everybody"

The next single from "Counting Down" - "Don't Cry" - was released nationally on July 5th 1999, and made a BIG impression on the radio airwaves around the country!

Human Nature then released a cover version of the hit song from 'The Bangles', titled "Eternal Flame". Originally sung by an all girl group, HN have re-worked this song and produced a truly amazing single - definitely worth buying!

They toured Australia as 'The Naturals' in the Australian production of "Happy Days - The Arena Mega Musical" in October and November of 1999, becoming one of the main attractions for the stage show.

"Be There With You", their next single, was released a couple of months later, and April 2000 saw Andrew, Phil, Toby & Mike hitting the stage again for their second national tour - Human Nature's TOUR 2000. Shows sold out Australia-wide, as fans were ecstatic to see their favourite performers in the flesh again!

Human Nature's first single off of their 3rd album "He Don't Love You" was recently released to radio, and it's getting the thumbs up all round from fans and media alike. The album, "Human Nature" was released early December and has already made the top 10!

Human Nature just seem to keep getting better and better as time goes on! Good on you guys, you're doing us all proud!!! From the looks of their performances and music, HN will be around for a VERY long time to come!
