Name: Glyph
Age: 1 year
Gender: Male
Species: Hybrid (Arctic wolf/Albino dolphin/Raven)
Background:
Glyph was created by an 'underground' or 'black' laboratory -- a laboratory where the findings and experiments are kept secret, where
genetics experts and the such can play God all they like, and terminate the experiments if they get out of hand. Such laboratories are
either unseen by the government and its agencies, or they are paid off to ignore their existance. In one such laboratory, the abomination
that is Glyph was born, one year ago.
In this time, mutants had begun to surface -- rumors of odd creatures that had drifted away from pure humankind were surfacing on the
streets and in the homes of the everyday Americans. Some of the mutants had been created by such 'black' laboratories, and one particular
lab, headed by Dr. Norstein Bekkler, had recently had a number of mutants escape, due to faulty securing mechanisms on their cages -- and the
mortality of the human security officers that had been killed in the wake of destruction that the infuriated mutant experiments had left as
they took flight from the laboratory. In response to this event that could most definitely reveal their existance both to the public, and
the government agencies who would no doubt have them shut down, Dr. Bekkler set about creating an assasin...a creature that would kill
without remorse. However, what he got was far from what he expected.
His creation, a mixture of arctic wolf, albino dolphin, raven and human DNA, which he named 'Glyph' at first seemed to be a perfect result
to the creation process -- melding predatorial instinct with incredible intellect, speed and dexterity. After a good deal of training and
conditioning, Glyph was sent out to kill his first target -- a mutant alligator that had escaped with the group that had fled not too far
back. He killed the incredibly strong creature with surprising ease -- and was sent on numerous other hits...successfully completing each
without complication.
However, as time passed, Glyph gained more and more strength...but he began to question the motivation behind killing all of these
mutants...whom he didn't eat, and had done nothing to him. Dr. Bekkler saw this, and ordered his termination as he realized Glyph was
building a conscience...however, his creation was not so easily destroyed. He wiped out most of the security force sent to kill him, and
escaped the laboratory, only mildly wounded. He has recently taken refuge in the masses and shadows of New York City...trying to find the
answers -- why he felt the need to kill...why he was created.
Description:
Glyph stands at about five feet and seven inches in height, with sleek, rubbery, ivory-colored skin. Small patches of silverish-white fur
line his spine, and his chest, as well as his belly -- all quite soft and smooth. His eyes are a deep shade of lavender, and his body is
rather muscular. His hands are more like human hands than anything else...two thick fingers and a thumb, and each are tipped with razor
sharp, midnight black claws. Flippers adorn his sides, about six inches beneath his armpits, and a white dorsal fin rises from the fur along
his spine, smooth and furless. A broad tail, heavily corded with muscle and fur and skin...creating a weave pattern of white, silver and
ivory.
From his back, two large, black, birdlike wings emerge, generally folded. Their black feathers shimmer under any light -- when spread,
the wings are approximately ten feet across, from tip to tip. His face is much like a dolphin's beak, mouth filled with sharp, tiny, cone
shaped teeth. Two-toed feet seem to give him a firm base of balance on the ground -- he's quite steady in his movements and standing still.
His bulbous melon (the bulged-out part of his forehead) flexes in and out occasionally, as if responding to changes in his surrounding
environment and conditions. His standard attire is simple -- a pair of black combat boots, a pair of tight camoflauge pants, all different
shades of green and brown, and a black shirt, short sleeved.
