GREEK HISTORY

From the ancient years Greece has played a very important role in the history of our planet. Many of todays known sciences started in ancient Greece. Ippokratis was the father of medicine, Isiodos the father of history as well as others, Democracy was also born here.

One of the most glorious Greeks was Alexander the Great, who was even worshiped as a god by the Egyptians and others. He was not only a warrior, he gave the lights of civilization to all the nations he met. He was such a significant person in our planets history, and so all the nations call him Alexander the Great. I the writer of this page feel lucky as to be born in the city which has the name of Alexander's sister Thessaloniki. Another glorious period of the greek history has started under the Roman occupation and was continued after its fall in the Byzantine Empire. The end of this Empire came by the occupation of it's capital Constantinople to the Othoman Turks. Currently through decades of fighting for the right of their land Greece isn't totally free yet, many of it's beautiful lands are occupied by other nations. A great example is the half of Cyprus being occupied by the Turks. It's not so long ago when they brutally killed Tassos Isaak and Solomos Solomou in front of the eyes of the United Nations army. In the near future Greece will be totally free and ready to write gold pages of history.
