URGENT NOTICE:
PLEASE TAKE LINDSAY OUT FIRST, ALONE!!!
SHE HAS TO BE WATCHED CLOSELY OUTSIDE NOW -- MAKE SURE SHE DOES NOT EAT ANY MUD, DIRT, GRASS, ETC.
PLEASE BE SURE TO
CHECK THE WATER BOWLS BEFORE YOU OPEN HER CRATE DOOR. DO NOT LET HER DRINK MORE THAN 1/4 OF ONE BOWL --TAKE THE BOWL AND PUT IT ON THE TABLE IF YOU HAVE TO DO THAT TO KEEP HER FROM CHUGGING A TON OF WATER.
OTHERWISE SHE WILL NOT EAT BREAKFAST AND THEN IT WILL CAUSE MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH HER BLOOD SUGAR. ONCE SHE EATS SHE CAN HAVE A TON OF WATER IF SHE WANTS IT.
FEED HER RIGHT AWAY SO SHE CAN GET HER INSULIN DOSE.
#2.Once Lindsay is back in her cage, let the other 3 out to drink/potty. Check the water bowls and fill them, before you Let them out of their cages.
Please give them time to drink -- don't open the back door yet because Tracey will stop drinking if she has started!!
#3. Check the blankets in their cages. See if Tracey's blanket is dry (sometimes she gets afraid and wets her blanket). Look under their blankets to see if they have thrown up in their cages (they chew their blankets and then throw up sometimes). If there is a problem, down at the end of this note there are instructions for you to follow. Main thing is to concentrate on getting them out first to potty, deal with the cages afterwards.
If Gracie and Tracey are outside... Gracie is quick to get her own #2 if you are not right there behind her!!
Gracie will not go potty without her tennis ball.
(Remember to threaten her with using the Hose/Squirt Gun!!)
Trust us, this is the best routine for them and you!!!
Please play ball with Gracie and then give her time to go #1 again!!
Be sure to put the ball back ontop of the freezer, do NOT let her have it in her crate, she will shred it to pieces and eat the rubber!!
After the other 3 go potty bring them in and feed them. Thanks!!
THINGS TO REMEMBER WHILE YOU ARE HERE:
Any problems, questions, always call us!! We would rather you make the the phone call!!
Vet: Dr. Elizabeth Preston, Hopewell Veternary Clinic, Stewartstown, PA. 717-993-2155.
Please check their crates/blankets upon your arrival.
SOMETIMES they throw up in them and hide it under the blanket, OR, Tracey may have gone #1 in her blanket, OR, Tracey and Gracie also may had poop accidents in them and they "roll up their blankets" to hide it!!The only time this has happened is if they are not given them enough time at bedtime to go #2 (especially Gracie.
THE SOLUTION TO THE ABOVE PROBLEMS:
If this happens, take the blanket out of the cage and (if there is no #2,) just put the diry blanket in the laundry tub in the laundry room.
IF there is #2, take the blanket to the basement bathroom and put the poop in the toilet. Then put the blanket in the washing machine and wash it.
Then, please clean their crate with Clorox Cleanup (under kitchen sink and its already diluted 1/2 strength), you spray the tray with it and wipe it out with paper towels. After it drys, give them fresh dog blankets (in grey chest in the room near back door).
9 out of 10 times nothing will have happened. We thank you in advance if you do get "stuck" having to clean out their crates.
