I am a born again Christian Pediatric Nurse, who has worked primarily with children that are terminally ill, and their families. These children generally received nursing care in their homes. I absolutely love children, and have been told that I have a special gift in working with them, and, ministering to them. Right now I have been home recouperating from a major automobile accident since February, 1999. It was doubtful since then that I would be able to work in Nursing again because of the injuries I sustained to my neck, back and hip. This saddened me greatly, because I loved my work with these children and their families. To me, working in Nursing is an extension of the hands of Jesus Christ. I believe that He has given me the capacity to do this...in my own strength I would have quit this type of nursing years ago because it is heart wrenching most of the time....especially when God takes His little ones home to be with Him. Many times I have been there with the families of these children when this has happened. Each time God uses it in a very special way. I have learned so much through each of these experiences...none are the same. Each child is unique and a special gift from God...for however long they are here with us on this earth. Every one of these little darlings goes home to heaven, carried there by the angels of God...and they are put right in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ...and He watches over them until the day their families join them for all eternity. It is my belief that they actually do grow up in heaven...sitting at His feet with all of the other little ones there... Some of you may question why little children seemingly suffer so...and I used to ponder that very thing myself. One day, someone gave me "their" answer in scriptures... 2 Cor. 4:15 states "For all things are for your sakes that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God." And for some time I used to believe that LIE..its NOT for our sakes or God's glory that our children die!! We live in a fallen world where the environment is polluted, our foods are poisoned by pesticides, insecticides and so on. One thing that I know to be true in the depths of my heart...God does not put sickness on anyone...adult or child. Truly, when we give these heartbreaking hurts to the Lord, it is through His inner peace and strength that we are able to go on after such things take place. God then receives glory from us through these trials. So we will look to Him as our source of everything, knowing that His plans for our lives are perfect...even when our children go home to be with Him. I lost contact with a very precious Christian online friend (Barbara) who has the most amazin' sense of humor...she constantly played practical jokes on a number of us webbies...especially with sending us some hilarious photos of herself...she gave her permission to put these on the internet....her nick used to be "Granny Ratbag"..so you can see already she is a lot of laughs!!.. .."GRANNY RATBAG," This is her most recent photo..she has aged a bit.. She actually is a gospel songwriter and she has also written the most awesome poem about children, and to me it makes my page much more worthwhile to be linked to someone with the talents and gifts this special lady has. I have dabbled some in HOME CATERING moreover as a hobby part time...only because it is sooooo much fun to do!!!! Cooking has always been one of my favorite things to do. Over the years, I've created a number of my own special recipes, I have taste-tested thousands of various chef's recipes, and tweaked some of them to my own liking. I am writing a cookbook that I hope one day will get published. People shouldn't be afraid to try their hand at cooking. It gets less stressful day to day as you keep up with it. I watched some cooking shows on tv to learn some special kitchen techniques and gained skills in these area's solely by practicing!! I have a number of friends that love to cook and we've had a ball having fun with "Iron Chef-like" competitions, etc. at our home. I have also created a line of my own Jam's and Salsa's, each recipe is uniquely mine. When its no longer fun you won't find me doing it!!! "LOL" I have a great sense of humor, and I absolutely "love" to make people laugh!! I also am an avid baseball fan...I absolutely love the BALTIMORE ORIOLES ~~ doesn't matter to me how they fare at the end of the season, I just love watching them play!!! My family all are Yankee fans (New Yorker's) so there is a lot of bantering with my nephew over the few times the Orioles beat them LOL> Recently, I got back into watching football, renewing my long time loving interest in the awesome BALTIMORE RAVENS !!! I have been called somewhat of a "traitor," because I also love watching the "GREEN BAY PACKERS." My roommate is an avid "Packer Backer" too. Football games at our house primarily feature the games of the Ravens (hey, the tv's mine LOL). Other things I like to do...when time permits, that is besides my own personal devotional time, bible study, church services.. Go to the Movies (when there actually is something worthwhile playing)... watch the Winter Olympics view Old Classic Movies Listen to Gospel Music ... Jazz and Ragtime too..love that Saxaphone!! Play the piano/write my own music Write my Cookbook and another book (sorry can't give it away lol)... Travel Swimming I am a Collector too!! Music Boxes Gemstones, Agates and Geodes, Uncut/unpolished stones Teddy Bears/Clowns til my house was robbed, after that never wanted to replace them. Baseball Cards (up to 148,230...) My greatest affection, besides my love for the Lord Jesus Christ, is for my 3 dogs... "RUBY"..."TRACEY"...and, "LINDSAY" (my babies!!) You can bet they are "spoiled rotten" too!!! ("LOL"). They can be rascals though...playing "tag" in the middle of the night up and down the stairs...LOL...stealing each others toys and bones...and food...or trying to get into the rubbish bins!! When company comes, they are quite the "entertainers"...showing off for their "puppy biscuits"...competing with one another putting on a show!! They also are exceptional watchdogs. "Nothing," or "no-one" gets by our fence unnoticed!! Lindsay stands guard as police chief!! We now have a new addition to the family "GRACIE"....born May 22nd....the most adorable Beagle pup you ever laid eyes on!! She has already joined the ranks of the "rascals"....claiming "Lindsay" (my Lab/Dalmation) as her 2nd Mommy...rather than the 2 other Beagles that are here!! (Right now those 2 still ignore the little squirt!!). She is the only one of the Beagles that "bays"...especially when her ball rolls under the chair and she can't get it!!! ROTFL.....she is quite expressive for such a "wee" one!! This one is rather independent...plays with her toys on her own...has mastered quite a number of tricks..because she literally "copies" the others...and that means she has copied some of the naughty things they do too..."LOL"...she keeps them running!!! Me too!!! Someday I will get around to scanning their pictures for you....and you will say the usual "AWWWW...they're so cute"... because they are!!!!!
