TOTAL RECORDER This is one of the best programs I have ever downloaded. Here is what one review says about Total Recorder..."Total Recorder can record any sound that your sound card plays without losing quality.
TR installs a virtual sound drive that captures sound generated by other computer programs and saves them back as WAV files. You can record from any source, such as audio files or music from your favorite game. It also records from CD, microphone, or other input lines. It even includes a built-in scheduler for future recordings and playbacks." See next listing for review of Total Recorder.

The results will be back in a matter of seconds. A useful way to get help is to search for a Tutorial....e.g. Paint Shop Pro tutorial. Back will come pages and pages of how to operate the program to best advantage. Here is a link to a full page of SEARCH ENGINES
If you are new to searching using Search Engines, check out HUNTING WITH SPIDERS, INDEXES & SEARCH ENGINES  which will give you information that is easy to follow plus some more links that will be useful.
We want to retain an atmosphere of a small, caring and helpful body of people so that each person who comes along is able to benefit. For that reason, when the current group reaches more than approximately ten regular attendees, we plan to start another "cell" so that everyone continues to benefit..and in turn, help others.
Watch this space for details of the next meeting.
Thanks to the members of David's group [see below] the Newbies Group now has the use of a second computer on meeting day!

The next meeting at David and Kath's home is to be advised. Watch this space! The evening will be one of developing practical skills. During the last three meetings we built a computer from scratch and upgraded two others, added memory and changed computer batteries, then learned how to partition a hard drive and how to image a hard drive.
We have had enquiries from overseas viewers who are interested in learning more about Forbes:
WELCOME TO THE FORBES FAMILY HISTORY GROUP Inc The Forbes Family History Group Inc.
Genealogists, don't overlook the use of Search Engines for help with your research. They are an easy way to find out if anyone else has done a website for the families you are researching. Type in the surname you are seeking....you can even find out if there is a GEDCOM available by inserting the name, e.g. Clark then adding + GEDCOM [so that the entry reads  Clark + GEDCOM] You might be surprised at the amount of information you can gather by this means!
