PENTRICH HISTORICAL SOCIETY Pentrich is a small village in Derbyshire. In 1817 an event took place, it is know referred to as "The Pentrich Revolution" & three men were sentenced to death & 14 others were transported to NSW. There is a lot of information regarding the prisoners/convicts on the site and the story of the revolution.

PARLOC   UK Parish Locator program. Download this freeware program for Windows95/98 or NT. It enables you to locate any one of nearly 15,000 UK parishes & Irish Counties. Use this program to calculate the distance between parishes and also find the neighbouring parishes.
The parishes listed were those in existence during the period from the mid 1500s to about 1837 when civil registration started.

LEITRIM-ROSCOMMON Griffiths database  Between 1848 and 1864, all of the land of Ireland was surveyed for the purpose of establishing the level of rates (local tax) to be paid by each landholder or leaseholder. For County Leitrim the survey was conducted in 1856, and for County Roscommon the survey was conducted in 1857 and 1858.

PLACES IN THE 1891 CENSUS  A database containing the names of places encountered in the 1891 census. It has a fairly wide coverage of places, but does not contain the smaller ones. You can use it to help locate places, or to find out the film on which the 1891 census records can be found.
NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF IRELAND   The National Archives of Ireland holds a wide range of records relating to transportation of convicts from Ireland to Australia covering the period 1788 to 1868. In some cases these include records of members of convicts' families transported as free settlers. This index to the transportation records is available here for online searches.
