Characters

Ramza is the youngest member of the Beoulve family, he is a squire and training to become a future knight. Ramza's other brothers, Zalbag and Dyceburg, have become reknown knights and Ramza seems to feel inferior to them. Eventually Ramza becomes aware of the Churches wrong doings and leads a group against them. For this his is branded as a heretic.
Delita is a friend of Ramza and a servent to the Beoulve house. Delita realizes that he lives a second class life, and he wants to join the ranks of the nobiles, so he puts together a plot that would eventually make him king, and for centuries after people thought of him as the hero who ended a cival war and brought peace to the world once again.
Alma is the only daughter in the Beoulve house. She is closest to her brother Ramza, and tries to help him out every step of the way, but Ramza doesn't want to drag his sister into the situation. As the story progresses, the people who are high up in the conspiracy that the Church is involved in take an interest in her.
Ovelia is the princess and suppose to be the future ruler of the kingdom. Later in the story she finds out that the real Ovelia died when she was an infant, and she was used as a replacement. She becomes the key character to who would eventually gain power when Larg and Goltana's find would end.
Zalbag is the older brother of Ramza, and a famous knight in Prince Larg's army. Zalbag always realizes that family comes before politics and he always seems to want to help Ramza, but he can't because he has his own life and the honor of the Beoulve name to protect.
Dyceburg is also Ramza's older brother and a famous knight for Larg. Dyceburg puts the political goals of Larg and his hopes to become a powerful member in the future government above his family, and he doesn't care at all for his brother Ramza. He also seems to play Zalbag throughout the story, and forces him to do some things that he didn't wish to.

Larg and Goltana are the two princes fighting to become king. They eventually start a cival war that leads to Ramza's whole adventure. It is clear by later in the game that the war was being instigated by the Church, and that they were guiding the two to start a cival war to facilitate the churches cause.
