Released in September 2002, was the double-length two-in-one issue 5-6. These 44 pages conclude the ‘Enmity Island’ adventure that began in issue 3. ‘Doubled In Enmity’ is a funny, fantastic tale that takes the outward form of a movie pastiche.
Centering on three disparate characters, apparently trapped forever inside the main plot of Jaws, it’s a story about storytelling, and the unpleasant truth about heroism. Hardly The Hog is the enigmatic interloper who might just free Enmity’s culpable police chief Merton Broody from this prison of his own making.
“Jokes so funny, even a colonial like myself gets them.”
– Dave Sim.
“Unfailingly original, and daringly idiosyncratic… a blend of fantasy, movie pastiche, and surreal, markedly English, humour.”
– Bryan Talbot
“Vastly entertaining without compromising its ambitious aims, this is future award winner if ever I saw one.”
- Mike Kidson, Comics International.
"Smart, funny and monstrously odd this is a read unlike any other.”
– Al Stuart, www.savantmag.com
