The world has been set free. What was once a garden has blossomed into a castle. After returning from the Crusades with the Divine Chalice in hand, Lukian takes his place at the royal table.
Alas, time and memory have vanquished what once was, and he sits alone. Wife, Child and Friend sacrificed to the great chasm of infinity. The head of the Student Prince hangs low as he remembers the past he once loved.
Sipping smoothly from the Chalice, a rich flow of fresh wine pours forth unto his rubbery lips, and the memory subsides. After bellowing for a whore, the deafening silence spoils his desires and he retreats to the library.
Taking from the shelf a black book with no title, he thumbs lightly page after page. The foul images of exorcism and invokation coerce violently in his mind. For a moment, the terror brings joy but fear will unsheave itself in the heart of every man, and thus, his grasp atrophies and the tome charges to the floor.
A single beam of light pierces the library walls. As Lukian is held paralysed, the beam falls to the black book. After recovering, he will find the book gone, and there will be no justification for further anguish. But for now, we will just wait until the sun is hidden by the clouds so far away.
