Thieve's World is a series created by Robert Asprin and Lynn Abbey. These guys are two of the best in the business, especially Abbey, who has even written for the biggest name in the business: TSR, Inc. Thieve's World Anthologies are books by these people about the Sanctuary world. These are the ones without pictures, which we do not base the script upon. This is because we like the Surrealist style of the comics and the bewildering imagery to have a better grasp over what we're trying to do with the movie than the descriptive-and-impacting but not-much-room-for-what-we-want-to-do-with-the-movie. Thieve's World Graphics is the comic book version of the Anthologies. I have decided to base the script on the TWG rather than TWA for reasons mentioned above.
Thieve's World: Santuary is a script of a movie. No, it is not a movie. Yet. I am getting all the script down. Not all of it will be published electronically, most I will still retain because I don't want anyone stealing my stuff!! But if you eMail me with enough interest, we can talk.
The main trouble is censorship: This script has a lot of R rated material, and anyone could visit my site, and AngelFire won't be too happy if they come and take a visit. I seem to have a natural flair for description, and some of the scenes can be very illicit and descriptive, so those scene's I won't put online.
The script is set in a very Surrealist style. For those of you who aren't quite as artistic as far as terminology goes, surrealism is where it's funny because it's imaginary or it's shocking because it's fantasy. I'll give you a hint: It's not comedy. When thinking about how to set this out, I decided on a Manga style. I watched a lot of Manga to get the style perfected, especially a lot of the R-Rated videos, mainly because they hold similar audiences and themes; In Manga's Dark Side, there are people practising uninhibited sex, violence is second-nature and no one is bound by the ethics and morals of today's society. The same can be said for Thieve's World's Dark Side. But then we get to the Good Side of both styles, which are purist, angelic, beautiful and uplifting (Sailor Moon suddenly springs to mind).
The script is set out like 'To Kill a Mocking Bird', having 3 parts. The first one introduces the characters (TWG Chapters 1-4 or so). The next chapter deals with how they relate and what happens in the town, and a lot is added. This added material is referenced as 'AB' or After Book. Everything in the third part is new, and it has a lot of changes as to what happens to different people in the book, and brings all major and minor characters together in a plot upon which the whole movie is based. Because I still have copyrights to settle, only the AB sections have been published, but the in-book chapters are still to come.
