"Umm.." was all I could manage to get out. I opened my mouth and tried to actually articulate some words. "Umm.." again, was all that came out.
"I'm going to... um.." she was having the same kind of problem.
"Yeah.. umm.."
Dang, was it too soon to like her this much?
"Uh-huh.." she nodded and left.. just like that. I couldn't help but follow her with my eyes. She was so sweet, and DAMN, so sexy.. she looked SO good in a little pink towel.. then again, she looks good in a big orange towel too.. she just looks good, period.
"Um, make yourself at home!" she yelled from her room. I nodded, but felt stupid 'cause I knew she wasn't looking at me, which made me chuckle.. but, again, I felt stupid.. what was she going to think of me if she found me laughing in the middle of her living room with absolutely nothing around me that could possibly make me laugh?
"Enough Brian!" I said out-loud. "You need to be optimistic.." I moved my head around, stretching the muscles in my neck.
"Did you say something Brian?" she said again from her room. I opened my eyes widely.
"Um.. no! No, eh.. don't-- no, I didn't.. um... no.." I sighed and hid my face in my hands. "She thinks I'm stupid for SURE now.." I said softly, my face still buried in my hands. "Why can't I act normally when I'm around a girl I like?" I whispered, leaning back against the couch and putting my arms behind my head. "I mean, I'm cool, I'm sweet and stuff.. girls like that.. besides, I AM the man!" I nodded and made a face. "How does saying that work for AJ all the time? 'Cause it sure as hell ain't doing nothing for me.." I sighed and buried my face in my hands again.. my hands were sweating. "Damn!"
