Chapter 3; Brian

- Man AJ, you just don't know when to stop, do you? - he asked him, a pissed look on his face

- You just started dating Dawn, and you're already flirting with other girls..

- Now, now Brian, I'm just dating Dawn.. we're not going steady just yet... besides, I just told her that she was cute, that's all.. chill out man!

- I think someone has a crush.. - Nick, his best friend, sang, a playful smile on his lips.

- Shut up Nick.. - AJ chuckled and Brian couldn't help but smile.

- Aww, come on Rok, you KNOW you liked her... you were staring at her..- Nick replied and AJ raised an eyebrow.

- I mean..

- Don't worry Rok, I don't blame you.. but she seemed kind of young.. I know that after Leigh Anne you'd want them YOUNGER, but she seemed 17 or 18..

- So? I mean, I'm not THAT older... just, 6 years.. - his voice trailed off as he realized what a big age difference that was. A whole 6 years.

- Hey, Brian.. don't worry.. after all, Leigh Anne was 6 years older than YOU, what's the matter with you being 6 years older than HER? A change would do you good.. - Nick always knew what to say. Brian just nodded, narrowing his eyes, deep in thought.

- Hey Nick, did you noticed how he didn't deny that he liked her? - AJ elbowed Nick and gave him a look. Brian just chuckled.

- Well, why would I deny what's true? - Brian started turned around - Now, come on.. if we're late to Kevin's barbecue he's going to kill us!! - Brian started to walk away, Nick and AJ not so far behind. He sighed and smiled. It was good to be home again, not only everybody slept at their own houses, which helped them clear their minds at night, but they could also walk around town without being mobbed. They had their break in the middle of the school year, so every fan was at school, or at least most of their fans.

It was a hot day, who knew that it could be so hot in May? He had forgotten about Florida temperature, where it's always hot. He had been around the world so many times that he tends to forget things like this one.. he forgot the sunsets, the sunrises, his own apartment, barbecues at Kevin's house, dinner parties at Howie's, plain parties at AJ's, rides on Nick's boat.. he had forgotten everything. It was time for him to reminisce.

- Hey cuz!! - Kevin greeted him and gave him a big hug. They haven't seen each other for a day, and yet Kevin already missed all of them. Brian chuckled. Kevin had taken the place of the Backstreet Dad, where he had to take care of his children. People always thought that Kevin's the serious one, the mature one, when what Kevin really is a big kid... a big kid that liked to wrestle around with us in a playful manner and kick the heck out of us. I chuckled again as I saw Nick's and AJ's faces as Kevin hugged them.

- Aww, Kev, come on!! Stop it!! - Nick whined. Kevin laughed.

- Stop whining Nick.. - AJ chuckled and went inside.

- I'm NOT! I don't whine!! - Brian chuckled at Nick's comment and went inside as well.

- No... you don't... - Kevin chuckled again and walked right behind Brian.

-That's right, I don't.. - Nick nodded, reassuring himself and walked inside, closing the door behind him.

Around 5 hours later, everybody went back to their houses. Brian laid on his bed, his eyes closed, and the image of that girl still in his mind. He couldn't stop thinking about her, not even if he wanted to. Only the fact that he didn't know her name killed him. He only wanted a name, any name... well, not any name... HER name. He sighed again and fell asleep.
