She sighed as the moving bus came to a stop. She looked out the window. It was so hot here, that she thought she was going to melt. Coming from Alaska, the hot weather of Florida was a big contrast. She was originally from Florida though, but a long time ago she was kidnapped and taken to Alaska, where she couldn't be found. After they dumped her and her younger step-brother, Jordan, in a parking lot, a young couple decided to adopt them. Even though she was only 8 at the time, she remembered that she had a family, that she had sisters, that she had a father, and a mother. She sighed again as tears filled her eyes. She got off the bus and started to walk towards the front desk, carrying only one duffel bag.
- Yes miss?
- I'd like to call a cab please…
- Sure… - the front desk lady calls a cab and gives the directions- You can go wait out there miss, it'll be here in less than 5 minutes.
-Thanks… - she walked towards the entrance and took her black shirt off, wearing only her baby blue wife beater and her brown cargo's. She wiped the sweat from her forehead and threw the duffel bag on the floor, sitting on top of it, and putting her fisherman's hat on, covering her eyes, her short brown hair let loose. She was 19 now, and she finally had left Alaska. Not that she didn't like it there, she had family and friends there, she's just been so eager to see her family again, that she decided to come to Florida. She didn't have a place to start, just a last name.. her last name.. Franklin. It was her dad's last name. Jordan and her were only related 'cause her dad had married Jordan's mom, but he died two years ago due to cancer. She had finally found him, and he died. Her step-mom and sister relocated and she didn't know where they are now, but she's going to look them up, and hopes that she'll find them.
The taxi came and she slowly stood up, grabbing the duffel bag and throwing it inside the cab, climbing in.
- Where to? - the taxi driver asked.
- The nearest hotel... I don't care how expensive it is... - she shouldn't. She lived with a pretty rich family, although she never talked about it. She wasn't conceited, and used her money for charity. She's an ecologist, so she spends most of her money saving trees - It's so hot here that I just want a nice hotel room with an air conditioner and a big bed to lay on...
- Well, the nearest hotel is just 5 minutes away, but it's so fancy..
- I don't really care.. just, please, let's get there.. - her voice was soft, she sounded so tired, so sad, so.. everything. She flashed the nice man a smile and looked at him, as in saying 'Soon'. The man nodded, returning the smile, and soon enough she was at the hotel. After paying the man and checking in, she went to her hotel room, locking the door after putting the 'DO NOT DISTURB' sign on the door and turned the air conditioner on, throwing her duffel bag somewhere in the floor and laying on her back, looking up at the ceiling. She sighed again and closed her eyes, drifting away.
