Lisa Ann Booze closed her suitcases and looked at her mother. The older woman had tears in her eyes. Lisa smiled softly.
"Mom! You act like I'm never coming home! I'm only going for the summer and Aunt Mary already told you that she would take good care of me!"
Kay Long smiled softly. "I know but, honey, you're only fifteen. I'm going to miss you so much!"
Lisa laughed. "Mom, I'm going to miss my flight if I don't get going. Bye! I love you!" then she ran out to the cab that drove her to the airport. Once there, Lisa gave them her ticket and walked to the gate, wishing that the would loose some weight. She was only fifteen but still over weight and her long, brown hair was always messy. No matter what she did it was always messy.
"Maybe that's why you've never been kissed or had a boyfriend." Lisa told herself as she walked down the tunnel to the plane. She pulled on her CD player and put the CD on track five and hummed along with Nick Carter as he sang 'I Need You Tonight'. She slowly fell asleep.
"Miss?" a strange, soft voice woke Lisa from her sleep. Lisa opened her brown eyes with a start.
"Huh?"
A flight attendant was leaning down over her. "Ma'am, we are preparing to land. Please buckle your seat belt."
Lisa blushed. "Thank you." Lisa buckled her seat belt and looked out the window. The ground was getting closer and closer. She was finally in California!
Once the plane had landed, Lisa walked over and got her luggage and then looked around for her Aunt and Uncle. She didn't see them anywhere. Lisa walked over to the gift shop and looked around. She had about three hundred dollars saved up for this trip. She turned and almost ran right into a tall guy.
"I'm sorry!"
The guy whirled on her and grabbed her arms. "What the hell is wrong with you, you fat bitch?"
Lisa felt tears fill in her eyes. "I…"
Before she could say anymore, a powerful hand touched her shoulder and pulled her away from the angry man. The other guy left his hand on her shoulder as he glared at the other guy.
"She said she was sorry, Justin."
Lisa looked up at the guy. He had blue eyes and blond hair and looked to be about 6'3" or so. He was wearing a black Nike coat. The other guy had curly blond hair and blue eyes. She knew who they both were. The mean one was Justin Timberlake and the other guy was Nickolas Gene Carter. He still had his hand on her shoulder.
Justin snorted, "Fatso should watch were she's going."
Tears fell down her face. No one had ever called her fatso before. Nick saw her tears and anger filled his eyes. "Hey, dick head! You made her cry! I happen to think she's very beautiful. If you don't like it, then don't look at her."
Justin snorted again and then stormed away. Nick looked down at Lisa. "You ok?"
She nodded slowly. "T-thank you."
He smiled, "No problem. What's your name, honey?"
"Lisa, Lisa Ann Booze."
Nick took her hand into his and shook it. "Nice to meet you. I'm Nick Carter." He gave her a quick hug. "Take care of yourself, sweetness, and if he messes with you again just tell him to come and see me."
Lisa nodded and heard her Aunt Mary calling her name. "M-my Aunt's here…"
Nick smiled and kissed her cheek before turning and hurrying down the crowded hallway. Lisa turned and walked to her smiling Aunt.
"Hi, Aunt Mary."
"Hi honey!" Mary exclaimed, hugging Lisa tightly.
Lisa smiled and walked with her Aunt out to the car.
The first week passed quickly. Lisa positively adored the kids and Lisa was Sammy's favorite person. On the second Monday Lisa was there, she decided to go for a walk by herself. As she walked, she thought about Nick Carter. She'd always had the hots for him, well, ever since the Backstreet Boys had come out.
As she passed the basket ball courts, a basket ball came bouncing her way. She heard shouting and a name being yelled.
"AJ! Learn how to shoot!" then she heard laughing and an angry grunt. Then a guy ran over and got the ball. As he stood, Lisa was looking into the blue eyes of Nick Carter. He smiled.
"Lisa! Hey, how are you?"
Lisa's jaw dropped. "Y-you remember me?"
"Of course!" he hugged her gently. "Hey, guys, come meet my newest friend. Guys, this is Lisa Ann Booze, Lisa, these are the crazy Backstreet Boys."
Lisa smiled at them and felt a strange feelings of happiness at the feeling of Nick's hand on her back.
Brian smiled and hugged her. "Hey, any friend of Nick's is a friend of ours."
Lisa smiled softly. Nick looked down at her. "How old are you, sweetness?"
"Fifteen."
AJ's eyes grew wide. "Young!"
Nick shrugged, "Age doesn't matter, AJ, love finds a way."
Lisa looked up at Nick fast and then got angry. "Don't bother lying to try to make me feel better about what Justin said to me, Nick."
"Huh?" he looked confused.
Lisa shook her head at him, "Get a life, Carter." Then she turned and stalked back to her Aunt's home and ran up to her room.
An hour later, Mary poked her head in to ask if Lisa could baby sit for a couple hours. Lisa agreed and went downstairs where the two boys were playing a video game. Sammy and Megan were coloring.
"Lisa!" Sammy exclaimed, running to her.
Lisa laughed and hugged the child close to her. At least some people loved her for who she was and not who she wasn't. Lisa sat down and played Bingo with the kids for an hour before sending them to bed and turning in herself, exhausted and depressed.
