The wind blows causing my long hair to blow like a flame, the strands dancing to a theme that only they seem to hear. I reach up and push my hair back and look back down at my blank paper. I don't have very long so I had better hurry; they will be arriving any minute. I reach down and pick up my blue pen and stare up at the huge white clouds. The one I stare at looks like a morning dove flying in front of a heart. I smile; wondering if it is a sign that everything will be ok.
I look back down at the paper and take the cap off the pen and out the cap in my mouth; it is an old habit. I touch the pen to the paper and begin writing.
Lisa Booze and Elisa Dall'Omo giggled softly. The two girls were in the backseat of Lisa's older brother's car. He was driving, glancing back at them with a worried look in his eyes.
"Girls, you giggle too much. It scares Me." he stated with a smile on his face.
Lisa giggled again and leaned forward, resting her chin on the passenger seat and looked at her brother. "Brandon, you know you love me."
Brandon smiled, "OF course I do, you're my baby sister, I have to love you."
Elisa giggled, "But, Brandon! I'm like a sister, ain't I?"
Brandon looked at her in the review mirror, "Of course you are, Eli."
Elisa and Lisa looked at each other and leaned back in their seats. The two girls have been best friends since they first met way back in kindergarten. All through school, the girls have managed to stay as close as possible with few fights and many arguments. They argue a lot when it comes to who's latest crush is cuter and silly things like that. The arguments always end with both girls giggling uncontrollably and hugging.
The one thing that Lisa and Elisa have agreed on is who their dream men were and who their favorite band was. The Backstreet Boys. Lisa was totally in love with Brian Thomas Littrell and Elisa was totally in love with Nickolas Gene Carter. Lisa had a soft spot about Brian, whenever anyone talked mean about him; she'd just look at them and start crying. There was something about Lisa, something that made you want to protect her, just take her under your wings and protect her and keep her safe. As soon as Elisa met her, she knew that it was her duty to do so. Elisa had a soft spot for Nick, but not so soft that she'd cry when people were mean about him, she'd just set 'em straight with either her words or her fists.
Elisa looked over at her best friend and saw her staring blankly out the window and knew instantly that Lisa's thoughts were no longer in the car with herself and Brandon. Lisa was off somewhere with Brian Littrell. Her big green eyes were staring at the clouds, her face covered with a blank, dreamy look. Elisa chuckled.
"Liz? You here on Earth with me?"
Lisa - known as Liz to Elisa and all of her close friends. Liz called Elisa El's while everyone else called her Eli - looked over at her and smiled softly, "Maybe."
Brandon chuckled and turned the radio on. Brian Littrell's voice filled the car and Lisa instantly sat up and listened.
Brian chuckled softly, "Yeah, I don't mind if you ask me about my personal relationship…"
The announcer cleared his throat, "Rumor has it that all isn't well in your relationship with Leigh Anne, is this true?"
Brian was silent a moment, "Um, well, yes, it's true. Leigh and I are spending more and more time arguing than we used too…"
"Do you know where things went wrong?"
"Yes…" Brian sighed sadly, "She wanted commitment and I'm not ready to get married…it doesn't feel right when we talk about marriage. Something inside tells me that she's not the one I am meant to marry, that if I marry her I will be unhappy for the rest of my life."
"Does your heart tell you what this girl will be like?" the announcer asked softly.
Brian was quiet for another minute, "Yes…my dreams tell me she is younger than I am, maybe sixteen or seventeen and that when I meet her, everything will just click but her parents won't approve of our love."
Lisa frowned softly and sat back, crossing her arms over her chest. Her pretty face was blank but Elisa knew what her best friend was thinking. Brian was twenty-four while Liz was only about to turn seventeen. Liz had no hopes of ever getting together with Brian but what he just said only made her hopes higher.
"Liz, don't worry, I'm going to get us tickets to go to their concert if I have to murder someone for them." Eli said, only half kidding.
Liz looked at her and smiled softly, "Who knows, maybe we'll get them in time for my seventeenth birthday."
Eli forced back her urge to tell Liz that she had already purchased the tickets and backstage passes, Brandon had helped her pay for them. "Maybe." There was only a week until Liz's birthday and Elisa couldn't wait to see the surprise on Lisa's face when Eli handed her the tickets. They were going to the show that took place on her birthday, the exact day.
Brandon chuckled softly and speed the car up.
