Evaluation Criteria

  • Presentation and Arrangement
    • Does it captures your attention and is aesthetically pleasing?
    • Is the presentation and arrangement consistent throughout?
    • Does it include features that facilitate retrieval of information (e.g. site map, content list, index, menu system, search facility)
    • Is it arranged and categorized in a logical manner?
    • Does it include navigational icons such as “Home”?
    • Is the use of frames, graphics and moving images to enhance or distract the users?
    • Is the text easy to read and the headings are clearly seen?

    The information presented should be able to capture the user’s attention, being aesthetically pleasing to the eye. A consistency must be present in the layout of the information. Features that facilitate retrieval of information are like the Site Map, Content List, Index, Menu System and the Search Facility.

    The information should be logically arranged and categorized. An appropriate structure should be there. For example, using time for historical materials. Other navigational icons like “Home” should be available for easy browsing.

    Frames, graphics and moving images should be used. They can help enhance or distract the site. The text should be easy to read and headings should stand out in the information.

    The quality of writing should be well-written. This enables the information content to communicate clearly with its users.
