Internet

    • The Internet links millions of computers together around the world sending information from one computer to another, often described as “a network of networks” because all the smaller networks of organizations are linked together into a big network.

    • The Internet is useful to people because of the amount of materials that are available. We should aim to get the required information in the most efficient manner by using the tools available in the Internet effectively.
The Internet contains resources ranging from the personal type to that of an institution. The type of information available differs from research and academic in nature to that of business. Some of these information are free while others, there’s a need for access.

    • Internet Resources include Newsgroups, mailing/discussion lists and others, Full-text documents, Databases, Electronic journals and magazines, Image-based and multimedia sources, Current Awareness and Alerting Services, FTP archives and Other WWW sites
