Congratulations, Nu Beta



March 2003

·       State Conference, Jackson, Mississippi

·       Four members of Nu Beta attended State Conference; two delegates, R. Jene` Wilkerson, and Vashti “Cookie” Hatch.  Nu Beta won 2nd place for Chapter Scrapbook, submitted a Chapter Report, and received three recognitions.




April 2003

·       Zeta Phi Beta Week:  Activities included worship service, the Annual March of Dimes Blue and White Auction, the Annual Mister and Miss Royal Elite Pageant, Movie Night, The Bar-B-Que with the Blue & White, and AIDS awareness Health Fair, and the Annual Greek Choice Awards.



May 2003

·       Commencement:  Four sorors graduated in May of 2003—Qualanta Campbell, April Evans, Nakemia Riley, and Simone Hollis.



Summer 2003

·       Soror Candace Carroll conducted biomedical research at Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine and Soror JeTua Eadon conducted biomedical research at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.



September 2003

·       Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Nu Beta Chapter Informational

·       Attended and hosted the Annual Debutante and Tea



October 2003

·       Membership Intake Process  (21 new members were welcomed into the Blue & White Family)

·       Soror Phoenix Owens and Soror R. Jene` Wilkerson participated in the Annual Miss Tougaloo College Coronation as Miss Royal Elite and Miss UNCF, respectively.

·       Soror Candace Carroll and JeTua Eadon presented their biomedical research at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students in San Diego, California.

·       Chapter Founder’s Day was celebrated on campus for Nu Beta Chapter.



November 2003

·       Neophyte Show (21 new sorors were presented to the Tougaloo College and welcomed into the Blue & White Family.)

·       Nu Beta competed in the Annual Capital City Classic Step Show and won 2nd place.



January 2004

·       Nu Beta competed at Rust College step show and won 1st place.

·       Founder’s Day was celebrated on campus by having cake and off-campus by attending and participating in the Annual Founder’s Day celebration (Hosted by Alpha Delta Zeta).

·       Nu Beta Chapter had Dinner with State Director, Soror Joyce Burton at Chili’s Restaurant in Jackson, MS.



February 2004

·       Nu Beta competed in the Annual National Trio Day Step Show and won 1st place.

·       Valentine’s Day Auction and a Valentine’s Day Basket give-a-way was held.  The ladies also provided a Valentine’s Day cake on campus for the student population.



March 2004

·       State Conference, Meridian, Mississippi:  Nu Beta was awarded 1st place Scrapbook, 1st place chapter growth. 3rd place Chapter Report, and 3rd place Chapter Project.


May 2004

·       Congratulations to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Nu Beta Chapter and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Beta Rho Chapter on a wonderful and successful Blue and White Week at Tougaloo College!!!!

·       Congratulations and Best Wishes to the Blue and White graduates of 2004!!!


Summer 2004

·       Congratulations to Candace Carroll, Je’Tua Eadon, and Leslie Whiting for conducting research at University of Georgia, University of Southern Mississippi, and Iceland, respectively.

·       Congratulations to Phoenix Owens who continued working with the community by working with Upward Bound in Cleveland, Ohio.


August 2004

·       The Chapter attended and hosted the Annual Debutante Tea



November 2004

·       Soror Candace Carroll, Soror Amanda Mims, and Soror Leslie Whiting presented biomedical research in Dallas, TX  at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students.

·       Nu Beta Chapter inducted 7 new lovely ladies into the land of Zetadom!!!
