Jousters are to link each other in the middle of the screen, facing each other under the main Judge for the match.

Jousters then proceed to Salute the Judges, their Opponent and the Court.

The Judge will ask: "READY?", Competitors are to reply with "READY" or "NAY". When both Competitors are READY, the Judge will then state "JOUST" to begin the match.

At the command JOUST each Competitor must type their opening tactic.  "ADVANCE" for an offensive stance, or "RETREAT" for a defensive stance. All commands will be typed in UPPPER CASE.

After this the moves are only allowed to be one of the following:

  Offensive Moves:                  Defensive Moves:
        SWEEP                                   DODGE
        LUNGE                                   PARRY
        THRUST                                 BLOCK

The same move must not be used three successive times by a jouster.
Note: This is irregardless of what the opponent may type in between your moves.

Jouster A- SWEEP
Jouster A- SWEEP   Not allowed, point for Jouster B (3 SWEEPS)
Jouster B- BLOCK
Jouster A- SWEEP

Jouster A-SWEEP
Jouster B-BLOCK
Jouster A-LUNGE    Not allowed, point for Jouster A (Jouster B used Block
Jouster B-BLOCK    3 successive times)
Jouster A-THRUST
Jouster B-BLOCK

The ways points are awarded include:

Point is awarded for three sucessive offensive moves which are unanswered by their opponent.

Jouster A- DODGE
Jouster B- LUNGE
Jouster B- THRUST  Point Jouster B
Jouster B- SWEEP
Jouster A- BLOCK

Point is awarded to your opponent if you advance into their THRUST, SWEEP, or LUNGE.

Judge JOUST
Jouster A- ADVANCE
Jouster A- LUNGE            Point Jouster A
Jouster B- ADVANCE

Point is awarded if your opponent makes a typo/misspells a move.

Point is awarded if your opponent meets your offensive move with an offensive move of their own (offensive moves must be met with defensive move).
