UPDATE: OCTOBER 20, 2003: MONDAY: One of Chris' biggest supporters from day one has been pro skater Jeff Ferris. He was kind enough to send a care package just because he wanted to brighten a day for Chris. We had this while Chris was still "sleeping and resting from his injury." One reason Jeff took to Chris so much, we found out later, is that his brother, Tom, is bravely battling brain cancer. We ask that you pray for both Tom and the Ferris family for all the Lord's grace and compassion. His brother has given of himself and when you pray for Chris, please include Tom.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 20, 2003: MONDAY: Another week starts out today. It is so hard to believe that we have come so far; that Chris has come so far. The efforts, prayers, concern of all of you has made such a difference and we are thankful.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 19, 2003: SUNDAY: Chris had a good day. He spent some time in the morning with Miss and Sam Boyer. They were kind and Chris had a nice time with them.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 18, 2003: SATURDAY: Chris was able to make it to his fund benefit on two outings. The benefit was a wonderful success and we are so thankful for everything. Words can never express how much all the efforts of the friends and community mean to us. Richard Thompson interviewed Chris and Miss Regina for an upcoming story in the DeSoto Appeal.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 17, 2003: FRIDAY: Mainly, the news today is in regards to the benefit and silent auction to be held tomorrow at the VFW to benefit the Chris Keister Recovery Fund. Thank you goes out to the Hills and all corporate sponsors. Community, especially this one (Hernando) is wonderful!!!

UPDATE: OCTOBER 16, 2003: THURSDAY: Chris had a pretty good day and was able to practice on his new guitar quite a bit. He is in good spirits and continues to get stronger. Keep up the prayers regarding his follow up neurological surgery on November 3, 2003.

Remember: October 30, 2003 is Chris' 17th Birthday!!!

UPDATE: OCTOBER 15, 2003: WEDNESDAY: Chris took a trip to Memphis for dinner with his sister, Danielle and his bro-in-law Jim. It was very nice and he enjoyed getting out. In addition, his musical efforts will be aided with his brand new base guitar, amp, and speaker system. We are thankful that the doctors have scheduled a follow up neuro surgery for November 3 and all the check ups were positive. Thank you!!!

UPDATE: OCTOBER 14, 2003: TUESDAY: Chris continues to get stronger and stronger. He requires less and less medicine and we are truly blessed.

OTHER INFO: The benefit and silent auction at the VFW for the recovery fund is Saturday, October 18, 2003. It has been misrepresented as October 11, 2003 in the local newspapers. Thank you so much to Miss Della Hill for her continued support in making this happen!
