I have three problems with this sign assembly (which is located in my hometown, Pontotoc). First of all, there is no STOP sign. Second of all, this street is now called West Apostolic Drive (there's a parallel East Apostolic Drive). Third of all, there is a "NO THRU TRUCKS" sign and this road dead-ends (just like its partner). (6/29/00)

Gee, I have no idea what HYW stands for. Maybe it stands for HIGHYAW? (10/00)

This is the second-longest street name I know of, seriously. (There is a Northeast Kentucky Industrial Parkway that is the longest I know of.) (7/00)

The Three Rivers Regional Landfill has an 11MPH speed limit, and I have no idea why.

MS345's south end is here according to this assembly on Main Street in Pontotoc (which is part of MS41 for some reason). Oxford Street (MS6) has similar signage, and so does MS9 northbound, which is what MS345 supposedly multiplexes with for three blocks. However, from MS9 southbound, the split of the two routes (which really was a split until it was thankfully reworked into a T-intersection) is the south end. My solution: Decommission MS345, since it's rather pointless. Also, I would turn Main Street south of here back to the city and end MS41 at its junction with MS15. Adam Froehlig suggests that MS9 should end at Pontotoc and that MS41 should replace MS9 north of here, still keeping Main Street under state maintenance. (12/2/00)

This multiplex of MS6 and MS9 with MS15 is not really there. It's really just MS15. MS6/MS9/West Oxford Street crosses MS15 two blocks to the north, creating a confusing situation. (1/6/01)

This sign for CR-866 has been partially knocked over. This picture was not taken at an angle (I know some of them have been). This is a typical Pontotoc County sign for a numbered road here. Pontotoc County is the only Mississippi county I know of that uses both names and numbers. (I think they're phasing out the numbers.) The name of this road is Endville Road. (3/01)
AAA! Exit 76! What an evil number! The preferred route from Oxford to Tupelo (and from Tupelo to Oxford) is MS-6, MS-76, MS-9, and US-78. MS-76 and US-78 are always being mixed up, and this exit will only make things worse. (2001)
