Hooray for old cutouts! This set of cutouts dates back to at least the 1970's. There used to be posted state-maintained business routes for these highways, but they were eliminated a while back. Greenwood has not removed the old red, blue, and green cutouts. (5/19/01)
This set of cutouts may be older than the other set, since the 49E in the sign on the left is almost completely faded. This is the third photo of this assembly on the Internet. These may be the most photographed road signs in Mississippi. (5/19/01)
