Marion County, Alabama

This is a HUGE sign assembly in Hamilton. Eight signs are given for five routes, one of which doesn't even go to that intersection anymore (US78) and one that is secret after another block (AL74). Okay, you're heading east on 78, and west on 278. You're also heading towards Guin (pronounced "gwin") and Gu-Win (pronounced "gu-win", like Guin but with an Alabama accent). Isn't it easy to find your way around Marion County? :-) (12/2/00)

Even *I* get confused sometimes. I was supposed to be heading west on 278, but got sidetracked by the Curse of Marion County. Fortunately, I was able to get this photo, which not only shows a wrong-way multiplex, but also a secret state route number, SR171. (12/2/00)
