Nathanael's Hawker Hunter Page

Hi, my name is Nathanael Trott and this page is dedicated to the Hawker Hunter, the first British swept-wing fighter. The Hawker Hunter has a 10,150 lb. thrust Rolls-Royce turbojet engine, and its max speed is approximately 700 mph at 36,000 ft. A later version of the Hunter set a world speed record of 726 mph. Original Hunters used thier flaps as airbrakes but that led to stability problems. Hunters do not have afterbuners although the prototype did. The Hawker Hunter set a record for number of planes in a formation at 22, that record has yet to be broken. The Hawker Hunter entered service in 1954. It still serves today for the air force of Zimbabwe. Sign My Guestbook Get your own FREE Guestbook from htmlGEAR View My Guestbook
