After many years of research on these cars I finally have enough information to build a page for them. I have contacted everyone I could think of that might have some information or photos of the cars for the last few years. There were only three General Lees used in the 1997 Reunion and four General Lees used in the 2000 Reunion. The three cars from the 1997 movie were all used again in the 2000 Reunion, with the addition of John Schneider's personal car (aka "Bo's General Lee").

1997/2000 Movie General Lees

In 1991 The Dodge Charger Registry purchased 17 of the remaining 19 General Lees from WB. WB kept two cars. Why two cars? They kept one “Close-Up Car” and planned to put it on display at the WB Studios. This car is currently known as GL#002. The other car was known as the “Sound Stage Car”. The sound stage car had no drive train and the suspension had limited use. The body was set up on casters to move it around. It was not much more than a “prop” that was a full bodied car with interior. When the Dodge Charger Registry purchased the 17 cars, no one wanted the sound stage car because it was not roadworthy and would have been a pain to transport. So it was left behind at WB. For the longest time, the stage car was rumored to be stripped for parts and sent to the scrap yard in the early 1990’s... but there was never any proof of that.

1997 Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion
When this movie was made, the only real gathering place for us Dukes fans was "The Dukes of Hazzard Fan Club". The internet was still new to everyone and only a few "Dukes of Hazzard" based webpages were out there. It didn't take long for all sorts of rumors to spread about the cars being used on the Reunion. This is where the uncertainty of the cars began. Probably the biggest rumor of all was over the very first General Lee seen in the movie... Romeo's car. It was rumored that this was the original TV series car in it's "as found" condition on the WB lot. This is not true. So now you ask yourself, "Well which one is it then?"

The three cars used in the movie were simply titled GL1, GL2, and GL3. For all of the information you could possibly want on these cars, I have made a page dedicated to each one.
