Law #474 from the Levanda Index

Czar: Nicholas I
Year: 1843

474. -- March 19. Exact. --

On recruits who are sons of soldiers, waived to instructional carabineer regiments.

The Emperor was pleased to imperially order: 1) ....... 2) To assign to these military battalion and semi-battalion regiments of Cantonists, only the Jewish Cantonists who have converted to the Orthodox faith. 3) ...... (V.P.S.Z. Vol. XVIII, No. 16,634)
