NBA Playoffs
Mood:  chatty
Now Playing: Cuban vs. Stern
Topic: basketball
It's been a while, but but it's time for me to speak my two cents on sports. Today's topic: the NBA Playoffs.

Scenario: the Mavericks are in Game 7 of the Finals against, well, who cares for the scenario. 3 seconds left, Dirk drains a 3 from the corner and wins game 7 at the buzzer. David Stern looks around for anyone he can find to hand the trophy to Mark Cuban. Can you imagine? Stern giving Cuban the championship trophy? It would be worth the admission price to see it, or even keeping the TV on after the game is over.

Next scenario: Mark Cuban's thank you speech. "First, I'd like to thank the refs for not making bad calls against us. Blah, blah, blah..." Stern then turns to Cuban and asks for a check to pay for the remarks. Give me a break Stern. Since sports have been around, everyone has complained about refs/umpires. Fines are not going to stop Cuban from running his mouth. I don't think banning him from the building (see Jason Terry) would stop him. Let him pop off at the mouth, it's keeping the fans in the seats.

Sadly, it's midnight for the Cinderella Clippers. Still nothing to hang in the Staples Center, except for, maybe, a sign that says, "At least we got past the first round." Maybe next year...

On a personal note, I'm hoping, if the host allows it, to make this a weekly habit of posting. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it.

NBA Playoffs - Western Conf. Second Round
Now Playing: Staples Center - Lakers vs. Clippers
Topic: basketball
Los Angeles Clippers defeat the Denver Nuggets to advance to the Second round of the Playoffs for the first time since 1976. The Los Angeles Lakers are also set to win their series vs. the Phoenix Suns, which will set up an all LA "Hallway Series" at the Staples Center. My money is on the Lakers. Only time will tell...

Experts predict a close game between Florida and UCLA for the men's NCAA basketball championship.
