WORLD SERIES
Mood:  quizzical
Now Playing: Tigers and Cards
Topic: baseball
I watched part of the game yesterday at work. It is very apparent that nobody on the Pacific Coast is watching or even cares. I guess if you are from Detroit or St. Louis the series is exciting.

SKATEBOARDING AT THE BEACH
Mood:  mischievious
Now Playing: KLOS - KNAC
Topic: skateboarding
First, some things you should know about me. I love to skateboard. I got my fisrt board around 1975 and have been riding ever since. I still remember my amazement on the day that I first saw a pair of new red polyurethane wheels that had just been invented. I used to ride around Southern California wearing my custom Vans, Op shorts and a Lightning Bolt shirt. Those were the days! I mainly ride decks that came out in the 80's. To me, these new boards that kids ride are nothing more than a popsicle stick with two tails! I prefer a nice wide concave board, I guess that makes me old school. Here is a cool link, check it out >>>>>THRASHER .

First post, day of invitation
Mood:  rushed
Now Playing: no music at present. About to put on some Proclaimers, though
Topic: frisbee
Hello, AllSportBlog,

I just accepted the invitation that was sent to me. Haven't touched my Angelfire account for a very, very long time, so I'm wondering about that a little. Curious isn't an option in "Mood".

In the spirit of sports, I've been playing some excellent frisbee recently. It was the choice activity for my reunion yesterday with my ex. Make him run for it when the conversation starts getting awkward. Good times. I noticed that it was my old frisbee - the one he sat on, but it wasn't too broken. Hard to catch though - bad shape.

Also at a family camp of my best friend, last weekend, we played frisbee with some strangers there until it was too dark to see.

This is my current sport. So there. Back to work.

After four years the FIFA World Cup is finally here. And we are talking about a normal world cup, one where Korea and Turkey don't go all the way to semi-finals (not that I have anything against them) or former World Cup Winners don't go home after the first round (although I must admit I found it hillarious when Argentina left). And I'm a confessed World Cup fan, I mean, when my teams play (Germany and England), I wear something to represent the team like a belt, a shirt, a pin or I take the flag to wherever I'm watching the game, but that's it. But that's pretty normal right? Most people do that for practically any sport they enjoy right? Well, these last couple of weeks I've seen all kinds of things that have truly showed me how far people go to show their support of their teams. Here's what impacted me the most:.... (read more)

WIRED NEWS WIRE SERVICE: SPORTS
Mood:  chillin'
Now Playing: Lycos, Wired and HotBot
Topic: sports
Hello friends. I would like to introduce everybody to my friends at WIRED and LYCOS, the pioneers of tech and search on the World Wide Web. Lycos an Internet search engine and web directory was born from a research project by Dr. Michael Mauldin of Pittsburgh's Carnegie Mellon University in 1994. The original Lycos search engine went on to be used in Carnegie Mellon's Informedia Digital Library project. Tripod on Lycos, established in 1994, is one of the leading personal publishing communities on the Web. Wired is a full-color monthly magazine and on-line periodical published in San Francisco, California since March 1993. The magazine was quickly followed by a companion website HotWired. HotWired itself spawned dozens of websites including Webmonkey and the search engine HotBot. HotBot was one of the early Internet search engines and was launched in May 1996 as a service of Wired Magazine . Wired is no longer related to Wired News, which publishes at Wired.com. However, Wired News is responsible for reprinting Wired magazine's content online due to a business agreement made when Conde Nast Publications purchased the magazine, but not the website.
