...About Slugburgers

Fate and Lois Weeks sold hamburgers from 1919 to 1990. ...Alone, together, and seperate...More than a dozen places...towns like Booneville, Corinth, Selmer, and Savannah...the same hamburger they sold was what was to become known as the slugburger. Fate Weeks was 69 when he died in 1977 and he never heard the word "slugburger" . Old fashioned hamburger is the preferred term for our product. It has been around since 1917. Uncle John Weeks brought it to Corinth from Chicago. Potato flakes were used as an extender then, soybean grits are now used. Perhaps, Weeksburger is the appropriate term for our hamburger.
