Spirituality
I enjoy writing and some of what I do is spiritually based. Lately, I've been especially interested in interpreting portions of the Bible metaphysically. I've included here a few of my works. As an introduction, let me tell you how I see the Bible:
It is related to us, specifically, as individuals. The stories in it, while they may also be historical and even instructional in themselves, are metaphysical, i.e., guides for each of us in our personal relationship with God. They are related to our own nature and the general message is of the nature of God within us. I believe that the Bible tells us how we can bring this divine nature into expression in our lives.
And then there is spirituality, which I see as our relationship with God vs. religion, which I see as a set of man-made rules, not necessarily bad, but often having less to do with spirituality than they do with structuring morality.
Churches are a wonderful forum for people of like beliefs to get together and renew these beliefs but they are not the repository of our spirituality. |
Spirituality can be found anywhere, for God is everywhere and anywhere. The paths to Heaven are as varied as the indivudial's definition of Heaven itself. |
As usual, I've included some of the photos I've collected in my travels. I hope you enjoy both them and the writings. Below are the ones I've done so far. More to come as I get the inspiration to write them...and then to put them in webpage form.
These writings are placed here to stimulate ideas and discussions, not to apostylize. If you'd like to exchange ideas or comment on mine, I'd love to hear from you. A part of my belief system is that there is no "right" ...or "wrong"... path to communion with God and that we each have the right to travel the path that feels best to us. Therefore, I will respond to all honest, open attempts at discussions but will not respond to missionaries intent upon converting me to their own beliefs.
