Idylls OF A Second Id
or adventures of a second childhood
Helen's Home Page
- Before anything else, I want to tell you about
another webpage I operate.
| McCUTCHENS
NORTHWEST goes into the history of my father's family.
I believe that anyone interested in McCutchen history
and/or geneology will find this site interesting. It includes
many old photos and many links to other relevant sites. |
- Introduction: OK, on to me! On these
pages I've tried to tell you about me, what's important to me,
what I like to do, and how I think. I've included
- lots of photos, especially of my home of
28 years, picturesque Alaska,
- metaphysical Bible intrepretations, and eventually
other writings I've done,
- photos of my family and family activities--(a
virutal family album),
- links to my family history webpage, my latest
passion.
- I retired in 1998 and since then I've been
trying to figure out what I was going to do when I grow up.
- I think I've finally figured it out
I
just won't grow up!
- So now I'm just enjoying my second childhood,
as my webpage title to suggests.
- Well, I guess that sometimes I'll have
to act like a grown up, play grandma, things like that,
but I've decided my career days are over.
- I'd rather have time for travel, and family,
and things I want to do without the constraints of a regular
job.
- If you'd like to know me a bit better,
go read some demographics ABOUT
ME.
- Through the good and the bad, the fun and
the saddness, I've had the support of a wonderful family. Come
meet MY FAMILY.
- I have found Spirituality very freeing (vs.
religion which I find restricting) and I've written a bit about
my beliefs. I'd be pleased to have you read and comment ....
agree or disagree, a good discussion is always fun. SPIRITUALITY.
- My travels have taken me from Alaska to Mexico
and back...and many places along the way. In this section, I
share a few of my experiences with you. ADVENTURES
- I've only included here a few of the many photos
I collect with my fun digital camera. Do go to my PHOTO
ALBUM for more.
- In these last years, I've spent much time doing
caretaking.
- First my husband after his debilitating
pedestrian/auto accident, followed by the cancer which ended
his life in 1997,
- then my sister, with whom I stayed
while she died of colon cancer at home, and
- my daugher, after she lost her leg
in a motorcycle accident.
- my friend, after he had emergency
surgery in Arizona while on his first snowbird trip.
- Eventually, I hope to have a section for
each of these courageous people.
