Plantation Quail Hunting

Quail Hunting in Mississippi

In years past quail hunting has changed in Mississippi. The Sixties and Seventies brought the world of pesticides like DDT to Mississippi. DDT proved to be very harmfull to our natural quail population. This brought about "plantation" hunting. Plantaion birds are pin raised, but specifically for hunting. These birds are carefully selected for their flying ability and introduced into the wild to be hunted. Now that DDT is long gone and new pesticides are safe for quail, we are seeing more and more wild birds on our hunts.
