Allegedly he and brothers given land, which he sold and moved to Memphis, TN,
around 1906-07. He was divorced from his only wife, Susan Mae Yates, and
generally lived with his daughter, Sarah Ellen GILES PREWETT until his death.
He was nicknamed "Happy". He was about 6 feet tall, lean and muscular, and
handsome. He nearly died of either yellow or typhoid fever during one of the
epidemics. He experienced a personality change from the illness.

road paralleling railroad track just south of old country store. In the
mid 1930s, he was residing with Aunt Jennie, who probably was his half-sister,
Jennie W. The where abouts of Judy Annie at that time is not clear.

He was captured by Mexicans and reported killed. He later returned to Texas.
He received bounty land for service in Mexican War (8784-160-47).
