Pjaye's Interests

Greetings! I am Pjaye.I live in a small community in Northeast Mississippi. That's Right! One of those "Sutherners".I don't know if I qualify as being a redneck or not.Maybe you can decide.

My purpose for this site is a positive one.I hope to bring a smile to your face and/or help you to feelbetter about yourself in this fast paced world.

Everyone to their own Higher Power but I believe in JESUS CHRIST.I believe HE gave HIS life for me that I might be saved.I may not be perfect, but do you know anyone who is? HE has done many good things in my life so I must give HIM the praise. Everyone that hath breath Praise the LORD.WEll I'll go on to other things. Another delight is enertaining my grandchildren, and if I ever learn how I will entertain you, with a host of their pictures.(grin)Oh yes, I forgot to tell you I am 57 years young and still growing.LOL

Now to the uncaring little things about me.One of my favorite colors is burgundy,in which my home is ravished. That and navy blue.I like dogs and cats and people.I have always liked to talk but at my age I weigh my words more.(took a while learning)(grin)

Some days I'm "Doris the door mat" and some,"I hold my own".Generally I'm friendly though. I would like to show you some of my poetry, maybe when I learn how to set my pages up right.(maybe later) In case you're wondering, this is my first.I've only had my computer for approximately 8 months, and I'm just now learning you can have a website.(grin again)But don't feel too bad for me for "AhMM frum tha south an weuns ken larn how to do es much es yawl ken, fur I am frum noath Missisip." No pun intended.

I thank you for visiting my page at Angelfire. Please come back and visit again! NO telling what you will see for I'll be adding other things for you to look at in the future. Ya'll come back NOW!

Update:For all those wondering about what my next addition will be...Just be patient with me as I am still working on that.Just you visit as often as you can and one day, you'll be pleasantly surprised...

Applet of the week from AngelEyes

I Would like to share with you one of my poems I wrote. Here It Is:

GrandMa's Room

Grandma's Room was everything but bare, Was thrills and frills every-where

Coats and dresses hanging on nails, Codliver oil for whatever ails

Drawers filled with I guess her first gift, Gowns n' Shawls n' many a quilt

On the walls were pictures of long ago, Looked like a museum high and low

FRom the spreaded bed n' treasure trove , To the cabinet in the kitchen To the big wood stove

Her shelves were covered with cakes n' pies, Much different food than burgers and fries

The water bucket n' dipper were both out back, On the porch was the washpan n' dryin sack

The food was all cooked with plenty of lard, Nothing for Grandma was ever too hard

Now from time to time I go back in my mind, To remember her fondness and oh so kind

These events are often n' never too soon, For it's Joy that I feel in Grandma's Room

Heres one of my favorite recipes.Created by none other than Pjaye herself. Try it and let me know how you like it. If you don't have a lot of time to cook then this is the recipe for you,for it's very simple, using your favorite box cake mix.

Pjaye's Box Orange Cake

1 box orange cake mix

Prepare and bake as directed- Cook in oblong sheet pan-

Take out of oven and set pan to cool for approx. 10 min.

Punch holes in cake and pour 1 cup orange juice over cake-

Make confectioners sugar glaze and spread on cake.

Put in freezer for 15 min.

Serve.

You can refridgerate with cover on pan.
