My Stories Other XF-Related Writing Other Fandom Writing Recommendations

What's going on with TOOJ? It's been a long, long drought. I know. I'm afraid I don't have good news. Brandon and I have tried and tried but we just can't get back into the TOOJ groove -- it probably has a lot to do with the fact that we've both grown away from the show and have found interests elsewhere. I really really hope -- one day -- to finish this story. I know that's not much consolation, but that's all I can tell you right now. I might end up finishing it myself, or Brandon might finish it, or we might finish it together. At this point, anything is possible. We wish for our sake and yours that this could have worked out better than it has. We honestly intended to finish it in a matter of months, but things rarely go according to plan, huh? So here's where things stand: I won't say that we've "given up" -- because we haven't. But we also don't want to keep everyone's expectations up only to be disappointed. It was an incredibly rewarding experience while it was happening, and we thank everyone who has been so wonderfully supportive and patient. You guys are the best fans in the world, and we count ourselves lucky to have been able to write in such a fandom. What have you been doing? I still have a lot of love for The X-Files and I'm still watching the show. But my interest isn't the same as it was before, and now I find that my enjoyment is limited to the weekly episodes -- I don't need much beyond those. I've been working a lot, and when I'm not working I'm writing fanfic for Smallville. (Read all about my other interests here.) It's a fabulous show, and the spark that's been missing from my XF interest has reappeared. It's a v. small fandom at the moment given how new the show is, but I have no doubt that it will grow by leaps and bounds. My ship of choice is Lex/Lana, which is an Unconventional Couple (UC) in that universe.
