2nd Devotional:
"FAITH"

Faith, it means the trust and reliance on God. How many of you put all your trust in God? When a situation arises in your life do you give it to God, so that he may handle it? Or do you just try to "fix" the problem yourself? Well, the Bible gives us many examples of faith and how the people that trusted in God succeeded in their lifetime.

Hebrews 11: 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

2 Corinthians 5:7 We live by faith and not by sight.

Luke 5: 20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said," Friend, your sins are forgiven."

Mark 9: 23 Jesus said," Everything is possible for him who believes."

Jeremiah 17: 5-8 This is what the LORD says: " Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD. He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."

What GOD means is that the man who trust in another man will fail. The man who trust in HIM will succeed and have no worries cause GOD will provide for him.

Psalm 118: 8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.

Just recently I went to a Student Life conference. The hours before I went, the weather was awful. The Madison County area was under thunderstorm and tornado warnings. I felt that the devil was trying to stop the conference for happening. So I just prayed to GOD and asked him if would calm the storm. In no time the weather had cleared up and the conference went on. HE had truly heard me and answered my pray.

Many times in my life I put my faith in GOD, and He has helped me with some tough situations I have had. But, as soon as I tried to do something my way I would end up confused and lost. Also, you need to understand that GOD is the ultimate clutch performer, he always comes though. When you need his help he will always answer your prayer in some way.

Read: This week read Matthew 6: 25-34, it is really good. Also, if you have time, read about Abraham and Issac in Genisis 22: 1-18

PRAY: This week pray that you will be able to keep your faith in GOD and remember that HE will be there no matter what.

Your Friend in Christ,

Brian Greer
